So what the heck are you getting yourself into?
Not knowing what to expect can be freaking scary- so let me break down the experience!
From start to finish we'll be together for about 3-4 hours start to finish.
Pre Session
Before your session you will get an extensive 25+ page prep guide AND access to the HUGE list of prep resources emailed to you to make the days leading up & getting ready as easy breezy as possible. You will also get my welcome guide that will help you navigate what you might be feeling after you've booked.
1. Arrive at the studio for the ultimate "Me Day"
Once you arrive at the studio you'll get comfy in the glam chair. One of my incredible glam girls will get chatting with you about what your vision is for make-up. Both my girls are incredibly talented and will work WITH you to create a look that you feel good in and that photographs beautifully. I'm there for the entire glam process so we'll get chatting and have a chance to get to know each other before shooting. This is what really helps put your nerves at ease. Whether it's deep life chats or goofy giggles we're here for it!!!
2. Outfits + Client Closet
Now it's time for us to get into outfits. I have an EXTENSIVE client closet that's available for you to borrow from if you'd like to. I have sizes XS-6X and a HUGE range of styles. Bodysuits, 2 piece sets, body chains, dramatic fluffy robes, jewelry, crowns- you name it I probably have it. Everything is washed after each use and worn with protective liners. You're also totally welcome to bring your own for us to go through as well. I'm here to help you pick the outfits YOU feel your best in!
3. Let The Shooting Begin
EEEEE! The time has come. Before we get into shooting I always remind my clients that I'm there to guide the entire session. I will get down and show you every pose, give you facial expression guidance and show you a side of yourself you've NEVER seen.
4. Take A Look At Product Samples
After we're done shooting I can GUARANTEE you that you'll be thinking "WOW that was not as scary as I thought." You'll get changed and then if you're wanting to have a look at any of the lux product samples, I have those all at the studio for you. You also get a 15% discount if you pre-order your products before you leave the studio.
5. Your Gallery Arrives
2-4 weeks from your session date, your gallery will arrive in your email inbox. You will get to choose your digital images from an album of 60+ images. You can take your time choosing, there's no dead line.

I always tell clients prior to them booking their sessions that they shouldn't expect to not recognize the woman in their photos in terms of not looking like them because of photoshopping or fake looking eyes/skin. (Which I don't do any of 👋🏼) I tell them that they won't recognize the woman who took a leap outside her comfort zone. The woman who did something that felt SO uncomfortable for the sake of growth. I introduce you to that woman. The one who's been there all along. The one they may have forgot about, lost over the years or maybe she's meeting her for the first time. The crazy thing about this experience is that it can teach you SO much about yourself. It proves you can do hard things, it proves that you're worthy (and deserving) of investment into yourself, it instills the mindset that you're so much more than the number on the scale. There's just something about getting in front of the camera that is so healing and I speak from experience when I say that. Both my personal boudoir shoots or branding shoots always light my soul on fire. Planning the location, playing dress up, spending hours creating and then having FIRE photos after to cherish for years to come? Unmatched. Now I know you might be thinking, Jess, you're in front of the camera all the time & do this for a living....OF COURSE you love it. But it wasn't always that way. Years ago, I used to tell everyone "I belong behind the camera, not in front of it" (I'm pretty sure every photographer is guilty of speaking that exact phrase at some point.) It took that initial covid lock down and being bored out of my mind, desperate to shoot someone to push myself to start getting in front of the camera and really enjoying the process of it. It allowed me to put myself in my clients shoes, to experience what they were feeling. It gave me unbelievable confidence in myself. It allowed me to photograph insecurities I had and grow to not pick myself apart so much. The camera can be scary, yes. But also incredibly healing when working with a professional, who you jive with & who's got your best interest in mind from start to finish. It's a feeling that's hard to explain until you've experienced it yourself. But I've seen the growth, the confidence, the joy, the shift in perspective + self talk not only in myself but ESPECIALLY in my multi-past clients who are always coming back for new and fun concepts + shoots. (You know who you are ILY hehe) I see so much growth in them, so much excitement and a completely new woman who was willing to exist outside of their comfort zone for the sake of healing their relationship with themselves. I'm Jess (Legal name Jesse, but prefer Jess- just please never call me Jessica🤣) aka Creator of Bare Soul Boudoir, your Confidence Fairy God Mother& Professional Hype Gal✨️ I started Bare Soul Boudoir back in late 2019 after trying boudoir for the first time in early 2018. I was MIND BLOWN when a client came to me expressing how much the session changed how she felt about herself day to day. She told me she took more risks, held her head higher. From that point on I was hooked. Fast forward to now, I've been shooting exclusively boudoir since 2020 and love every damn minute. Growing up I ALWAYS wished I looked different. Whether it was wishing I had bigger boobs, a smaller stomach, a better figure. I was never happy, I was always chasing what I didn't have. Through the art of boudoir + helping other women take back their power, find their confidence and celebrate themselves EXACTLY as they are, I've truly found my life's calling & helped myself heal along the way as well. I've had hundreds of women of all shapes, sizes, colours, background and job titles in front of my camera over the years and with each gallery I am in absolutely awe at the pure beauty of my clients. Outside of work you'll likely find me enjoying a joint with my man and hangin my doggies. My soul puppy, Nala the corso and I also have a Mini Pincher named Millie. (The size difference of 100lbs makes me laugh almost daily!) I love me a good dumpster fire reality TV show to relax and ALWAYS take any opportunity I can to be outside, wherever that may be. (My favourite place to be is listening to rain/thunder under my covered back porch) You'll also find a ton of house plants in my home and any shade of green is my FAVOURITE colour!! The most magical part about this experience is that you see yourself from a perspective you never have before. The most common reaction from clients when I show them that first sneak peak on the back of my camera is "HOLY SHIT THAT'S ME?!?!" It's the you that's always been there. The you that's been the punching bag for all your self doubt and negative talk all the years. The you that deserves to be celebrated. The you that through this experience is going to learn that she's worthy of love, worthy of kindness and worthy of feeling at peace in the skin she's in.Button -

The reason I refuse to edit out cellulite & stretch marks 👇🏼 Honestly, this is a topic that comes up a lot with Boudoir. Every photographer out there has a different policy regarding it but I like to be SUPER clear about the fact that I will NOT remove stretch marks or cellulite. And the reason why is a lot more simple than you think. It's not because I can't do it, I have the ability to make your skin look like plastic but that's not the goal here. When you see a photo online that's VERY clearly manipulated (Plastic looking skin, Glass looking eyes.) you know that's not REAL. Photo manipulations popularity is honestly scary. It's perpetuating these false standards, it's damaging minds, mental health & causing dis-trust. I want you to look at your photos & feel on top of the world knowing that's EXACTLY what you look like. Your photos are a complete representation of you. No fancy waist trimming, arm slimming, scar removing! I know you might be thinking uhhhh Jess, I'm gunna look at my photos and hate them because my cellulite is my biggest insecurity..... Well let me paint you a picture. Say I agree to edit your skin to look like glass, remove every single mark, scar, stretch mark. You get your photos back and then you find yourself comparing the woman you see in the mirror to the one in the photos. Those photos aren't you, you're not that person. HOW SHITTY WOULD THAT FEEL. TO LOOK AT THOSE PHOTOS KNOWING THAT'S NOT WHAT YOU LOOK LIKE??!?!?!?!? I know it's scary to be told that one of your biggest insecurities will be left in a photo. But I promise you that by me doing this, you learn to look in the mirror & absolutely adore the person staring back at you. Cellulite, stretch marks, scars & all. ❤️ (Also as a side note, all of these things are less noticeable in photos than you would think❤️)Button -

We all wake up or look in the mirror sometimes & don't feel the greatest. Self love isn't easy. It's not just taking a bubble bath, or going to the spa. It's looking in the mirror and learning to shift your perspective & speak kindly to yourself. It's taking a hard look at your habits and adjusting them to what's best for you and your health. It's putting yourself first when that's not always the easy thing to do. It's doing the things you don't want to do, but you do them because you KNOW they're good for you. It's about learning to preserve your mental energy. Self love isn't always sunshine & rainbows. It's hard work... constant work. But it's work that makes the world of a difference in the quality of your life & that's something worth working for! 🫶🏼Button -

Learning to love yourself is a commitment.. I'll be honest, one boudoir shoot isn't an end all, fix all solution. Your boudoir experience is a seed. A seed that you need to continue to nurture. If you leave your experience and allow yourself to slip back into the same non existent self love habits, then you won't see a change. You need to continue to take time for you, you need to continue to do the hard things that you KNOW are good for you. You need to continue to keep yourself front of mind. But it doesn't stop there. Self love and body confidence isn't always bubble baths and face masks. It's leaping out of your comfort zone and experiencing mad amounts of confidence from doing so. Self love is different from person to person. Maybe it's investing in therapy, maybe it's making a boudoir shoot a yearly thing, maybe it's taking the time to get your nails done, maybe it's hiring a babysitter for the kids one night a week or every other week. Maybe it's taking 10 minutes every morning or night to journal. Maybe it's booking that doctors appointment you've been putting off. Maybe it's committing to moving your body everyday. No matter what self love is to you and how you practice it- your boudoir shoot is the first step in your journey. You get to taste what it's like to put yourself first, to invest in yourself and how amazing that makes you feel. It makes you crave that feeling, and therefore inspires self love in all areas of life. Button -

It's crazy to think that 6 years ago I had no idea that the art form of boudoir existed. To compare that to now, I've changed THOUSANDS of lives, delivered 10's of thousands of magical images, there's been happy tears in my studio more times than I can count, I've gotten to hear so many inspiring stories from all walks of life. This experience can mean so many different things to women. It can be taking back their power, It can be healing, growing, learning that they're worthy of investment into themselves. It can mean fighting back against generational body image troubles. It can mean healing themselves for the sake of their children. It can be a celebration of aging, getting out of a toxic relationship, or getting into a healthy one. One of my favourite parts about what I do is that I get to work with everyday women, women who need to see this new perspective of themselves more than ever. Women who have given so much to those around them that they often forget about themselves. Women who look in the mirror and pick themselves apart. Women who have made a habit of hating mirrors. Women who avoid the camera at family + friend events. Women who wouldn't call themselves beautiful. Women who need to lean into their feminine. Women who need to feel at home in their bodies again. Brides this one's for you! ✨🕊️💍 While I am always a huge champion of booking an experience for yourself FIRST, I know they're popular (AND KILLER) gifts. If you're wanting products back to gift for your big day, you need your session date to be 8-10 weeks prior to the day you want products IN HAND. I typically recommend aiming to have them in hand a week or so before you want to gift, just to give yourself some wiggle room. If you're wanting just your digital gallery back in time you want to be about 1 month from the date you want your images back for! Gallery turn around is 2-3 weeks but that extra week gives you some time to dream up how to gift them! A huge goal of mine for 2024 is to spend more time shooting and dreaming up creative boudoir sessions ✨🫶🏼 Those of you who have been following me for EVERRRR (I'm talking early Jesse Captures days- drop me a comment if you've been here since then🥲) know that what really got me into photography was the creative portrait side of things. That's how I got most of my shooting practice in the early days. Different settings, pulling together an entire vibe with the set, the outfits, the makeup, the location, the lighting, the props etc. That shit lights my SOUL. ON. FIRE. And I have very much carried that into my boudoir career BUT it's something that I feel I let fall to the side easily with the standard studio session. Which is still creative for me, yes, but not in the same way. So in 2024 I'm leaning back into that more, pushing myself to dream bigger, think outside the box & create more. Allowing myself to bring a spark of an idea to life through this art form I adore so much. For the past week I've been silently reflecting on 2023, figuring out how to put this year into words. 2023 was without a doubt one of the most emotionally and mentally challenging years of my life but with that came so much growth. So much of 2023 was spent doing things that scared me but to be able to sit back and look at everything that happened this year as a whole- just reaffirms the message I am always sharing, that growth doesn't come from your comfort zone. In 2023 I bought my first house, launched a second business, got a second dog, brought on an assistant and created the best team, I brought on ambassadors, built an even stronger community, shot 230 sessions, raised $4500 for the women's shelter, put more systems in place to give myself better balance, did more self work than years past and really found my groove as an artist. I'm incredibly proud of & passionate about the work I do. But I think my favourite thing to come out of (the tail end) of 2023 was my commitment to myself. To allowing myself to step away more, to give myself more of my time back to do the things that make me feel good. To move and fuel my body for the sake of more energy, better sleep, better mental health & making that a top priority above all else. I hope in 2024, you prioritize yourself too. I hope you say no more. I hope the opinions of others roll off your shoulders a little easier. I hope you spend more time outside of your comfort zone. I hope you take care of your mind & your body. REAL 👏🏼 SKIN 👏🏼 HAS 👏🏼 TEXTURE 👏🏼 You may notice when scrolling through my work that you're not seeing plastic looking skin, glass looking eyes and bodies without scars, stretch marks, cellulite etc. I do this intentionally. Could I edit every single little ounce of texture of your skin very easily? Absolutely. But will I? No. And here's why 👇🏼 My approach to boudoir is to show you that you are beautiful exactly as you are. That all the things you nit pick about yourself in the mirror, don't make you ugly. When my clients go through their galleries I want them to NOTICE these things, and then realize that they are still beautiful despite these things. Sure, your first instinct might be to wish that your skin was perfectly smooth or that your stretch marks weren't in your photos. But I strongly believe (and you won't change my mind on this) that intentionally leaving these things in, conditions my clients to look at themselves with kinder eyes. When they see these things they once considered "flaws" they'll remember back to their photos and think SHIT my photos were still gorgeous. Instead of the flip side of that coin where they look at their photos and look in the mirror and think "My photos are only beautiful because my stretch marks, scars cellulite etc are gone" In my opinion that mindset will do way more harm than good long term. Skin texture, cellulite, scars, stretch marks, etc are ALL NORMAL and I strongly believe that the way we start to accept that as a society is to start SHOWING that online. To stop editing those things out and teach women that you are worthy of celebrating regardless of your physical appearance. Because in reality, your physical appearance is the least interesting thing about you.Button -
